The International Winter School MEREMA (MElting and fluid/melt-rock REactions in the MAntle) has been held in the historic lecture center of the University of Pavia from 13 to 17 February 2017.
This International School on Solid Earth Geoscience, organized by the Italian Society of Mineralogy and Petrology (SIMP), in collaboration with the PhD programs of the Universities of Pavia, Ferrara, Genova, Milano and Modena-Reggio Emilia, and the University of Parma, focused on the Mantle melting process and reaction mechanisms between melting rocks and migrating melts/fluids.
PhD and master degree students, and young researchers, coming from 17 countries, approached the main themes by theoretical, experimental, thermodynamic, analytical, geochemical and macro/microscopic studies of mantle rocks.
Lectures have been completed by exercises and practice tests, continuously monitored by a high number of international teachers.
